As the name indicates, Double Swing Doors are employed for larger openings. Single shutter swing doors are not advisable for larger openings as the doors tend to sag on prolonged use. The general conception of increasing the number of hinged supports has proved to be a fallacy.

These spaces often have materials being hand carried to and from and less use of mechanization like moving trolleys and trays. Hence these flip flap doors enables the user to open by a push and not having to strain and pull the door by the handle. These doors are also often provided with Kick Plates. As the name suggests these are Stainless Steel or Aluminium plates provided on the door shutter so that it is not damaged while the user kicks open or Hits open the door with trolleys. These also finds extensive use for operation theatres where the stretcher pushes the door open without having to waste time by pulling and opening the shutters.
